An Anti-Terrorist Court has directed Islamabad Police to hand over cash and other valuables including gold ornaments to wife and daughter of Moulana Abdul Aziz, former chief cleric of Lal Masjid.
On an application filed by Umme Hassaan, wife of Moulana Abdul Aziz and Umme Tayyaba Dua, daughter of Moulana Abdul Aziz, the judge of Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) No 1, Chaudhry Habibur Rehman, directed the Margalla Police Station to handover the cash including Rs 271,742 and 200 Saudi Riyals, gold ornaments including one bracelet, two earrings, two rings and a diary and veil of Umme Tayyaba.
Counsel of Umme Hassaan, Wajihullah Advocate filed an application in the court pleading that Margalla Police had confiscated cash and other valuables during Lal Masjid operation when Moulana Abdul Aziz and his other family members were arrested.
Meanwhile, another application was moved in the court pleading that the car belonging to Humera Ghazi, wife of late Abdul Rasheed Ghazi, Naib Khateeb of Lal Masjid, should be handed over to the owner.
The learned judge deferred the hearing on this application till next hearing. It is worth mentioning here that Moulana Abdul Aziz, his wife Umme Hassaan, daughters, Umme Tayyaba Dua and Amna Dua were among those arrested by Islamabad Police during Lal Majid operation of June and July 2007, during which Moulana Abdul Rasheed Ghazi his mother, Hassaan son of Moulana Abdul Aziz and hundreds of male and female students of Jamia Hafsa and Lal Masjid were killed.
