Lahore to receive thunderstorm rain

Overcast weather has been forecast for the provincial capital and it expected to receive thunderstorm rain and chances of dust storm was also there. According to a meteorological department in Lahore, meteorological analysis suggests that a strong westerly weather system is likely to affect the country in the next 24 hours and may continue intermittently for about 4-5 days.
Under its influence, upper parts of the country may receive widespread thunderstorm rain at times heavy. Possibility of hailstorm at a few places of Punjab, Upper Sindh and NWFP cannot be ruled out.
It said the maximum temperature recorded was 30 Celsius degrees and the minimum temperature was 16 Celsius degrees. Lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Malamjaba, 2 Celsius degrees and highest maximum temperature was recorded in Nawabshah, 41 Celsius degrees.
Also, scattered dust-thunderstorm rain occurred in Punjab, upper NWFP, northern Balochistan and Kashmir. Islamabad received 16 mm of rain, Balakot and Rawalakot 12 mm each, Kakul 10 mm, Garhi Dopatta, Kotli and Murree 9 mm each, Muzaffarabad 7 mm and Sailkot 2 mm. For the rest of the country, scattered rain-dust-thunderstorm expected in Punjab, NWFP, northern Balochistan, upper Sindh and Kashmir.
