Big crackdown against proclaimed offenders ordered

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Additional IG Malik Mohammad Iqbal has ordered to launch a massive crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders in the provincial metropolis besides, evolving strategy for the arrest of felons especially involved in kidnapping for ransom, murder and daocity incidents.
In a circular addressed to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation Tassaduq Hussain, Senior Superintendent (SSP) Operations Dr Tariq Khokhar and all divisional SPs, the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) said that arrest of maximum number of proclaimed offenders is equally important for the promotion of sense of security among the masses.
He directed the Superintendents of Police (SPs) of Investigation and Operations wings to hold joint meetings and evolve a comprehensive strategy for the arrest of the hardened criminals and individual target should be allocated to all the officers working under their command.
He also directed SPs to further improve the intelligence network and trace maximum criminal dens and conduct special raids on brothel, gambling dens. Strict action should also be taken against the persons dealing in illicit or display of arms.
He also directed the divisional SPs to ensure free registration of cases in their respective divisions and also extend courtesy to the applicants in police stations besides redressal of their grievances on top priority basis. He warned that officials whose performance would not be satisfactory in the said crackdown would be taken to task and departmental action would be initiated against them. All divisional SPs should also furnish a daily report to him pertaining to the crackdown results on daily basis, he concluded.
