Prices shot up on the grain market on Thursday as many retailers were trying to hoard the commodities due to continued surge in prices, dealers said.
On the grams side, gram garda Punjab both types gained Rs 200 to Rs 3600-3800, gram garda dal Punjab inferior type was up by Rs 100 to Rs 4100 while the best quality was unmoved at Rs 4200. Beetle Chana No 1 rose by Rs 200 to Rs 3800-4000, beetle 50x50 also gained Rs 225 to Rs 3700-3900, dal beetle was up by Rs 100 to Rs 4300-4500, they said.
On the rice side, Irri-9 Punjab was higher by Rs 200 to Rs 3900-4000. Basmati/D-98 Shahdadkot low type rose by Rs 800 to Rs 4800 and better quality was up by Rs 100 to Rs 4900, same rise was seen in the prices of Basmati Bagr Jee at the equal rates, they said.
Gur lost Rs 100 to Rs 100 to Rs 1200-1800 in process of trading, they said. Only change witnessed on the seed side was, cottonseed oilcake with bag low type up by Rs 10 to Rs 760 and good type was higher by Rs 20 to Rs 790, they said.
