Opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said the heads of parties coming to power have not learnt any lesson from their past mistakes and restarted taking undemocratic and vindictive steps against the opposition parties' leaders.

He condemned a false case against Lahore district Nazim Mian Amer Mehmood and his Naib Idrees Hanif, saying that it was the worst action of pressuring political opponents.
He said his party would deal all such cases according to the law of the land. Similarly false cases were also registered against several Pakistan Muslim League-Q workers in other parts of the province.
Pervaiz Elahi said what kind of reconciliation was that as the political opponents were being pressurised to change their loyalties. When they refused, they were allegedly involved in false cases, he said, adding during the five-year tenure of the PML-Q, not a single case was registered against any political opponent instead the PML-Q had introduced politics of tolerance and brotherhood.
He said not a single political prisoner was in jail during the tenure of PML-Q, adding that the ruling parties had been involved in confrontation with their political opponents in the past due to which they (opponents) remained behind the bars, besides facing false cases.
