Seven stolen cars recovered, three held

Anti-vehicles lifting staff have arrested three car lifters and seized seven stolen cars worth Rs 2.5 million from them. The accused has confessed committing 11 such incidents during preliminary interrogation.
As per details, Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal directed DIG Investigation Tassaduq Hussain to take effective measures for curbing the incidents of car lifting and a special team was constituted under the supervision of SP Zaeem Iqbal Sheikh, which collected the particulars of Waseem Akhtar car lifter gang and arrested its three members on a tip-off.
The areas in which these cars lifters had committed crime include Gulberg, Faisal Town, Civil Lines, Modal Town, Shahdara and Lyton Road. The police recovered seven stolen cars from their possession. The arrested were identified as Waseem Akhtar alias Chehema, Hanif Mistri and Ezat Baig.
Moreover, CIA police Civil Lines division have arrested three drug traffickers and seized five-kg charas as well as illegal weapons from them. The police recovered five-kg charas, five pistols and bullets from the possession of Kamran alias Kami, Mushtaq Ahmed and Abdul Waheed and arrested them.
