Duty relief on phosphate rock import

06 Apr, 2008

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has exempted phosphate rock, falling under Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) heading 2510.2000, from 5 percent duty. The board has amended SRO 567(1)/2006 through a notification issued on Saturday.
The measure has been taken to help reduce cost of production which will, in turn, stabilise prices of fertiliser in the country to some extent. Through another notification, the board has allowed 6.12 percent duty drawback as per fob value on export of cast acrylic sheets from April 4. The duty paid raw materials used in the manufacture of finished products included acrylic scrap; ABN-R (azobis iso butyronitrile); pigments and masking paper.
