Seven flour mills sealed in Lahore

DCO Lahore has said that the price of a 20 kg bag of Atta will rise to Rs 340 after April 15, although there is no Atta crisis in the city. In a press briefing in Lahore, Mian Ejaz DCO, Lahore said that the government has fixed the procurement price of wheat at Rs 625 per maund, w.e.f. April 15.
He said that at present, a 20 kg bag of Atta is available at Rs 300 in the market, but the price is likely to go up by end of the current month. The DCO accused the flour-mills owners, distributors for creating an artificial shortage of Atta. According to him, seven flour-mills have been sealed for not grinding atta according to their quotas. The DCO added that a strict monitoring of flour-mills in Lahore is being enforced to ensure regular supply of Atta to the general public.
