494 outlaws held with arms and drugs in massive crackdown

The city police in a massive crackdown, arrested 494 outlaws, including 131 proclaimed offenders, 114 court absconders and 149 target offenders during midnight of April 5 and 6, and seized a huge cache of unlicensed arms as well as narcotics from them.
As per details, Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal directed DIG Investigation Tassaduq Hussain and SSP Operations Dr Tariq Khokhar to launch a crackdown against illicit arms, proclaimed offenders and court absconders in provincial metropolis and supervise the said crackdown by themselves.
Keeping in view the instructions, 15 special teams were constituted headed by all the SPs of Operation, Investigation, CIA and CRO which raided a number of hideouts of criminals in various parts of the city during the midnight of April 5 and 6 and arrested 494 criminals and recovered 279 pistols and revolvers, 11 guns, five pump actions, 812 bullets, charas more than two kgs 353 gm, 220 gm heroine and 19 bottles of liquor.
Saddar Division police also arrested five criminals of Bhoola dacoit gang during this crackdown and recovered two lakh in cash, eight tolas gold ornaments, one motorcycle and seven cell phones from their possession. The police also arrested 131 proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes and 114 court absconders. Cases have been registered against the arrested accused in different police stations of the city. It is worth mentioning that police also targeted notorious dens of criminals in the city during this crackdown.
Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police raiding teams, which took part in the crackdown.
