International Health Day will be celebrated today in the whole world. Different seminars, programmes and ceremonies would be held in Multan like in other cities of Pakistan.
According to a research report related to health, in Pakistan, only one doctor is available for about 1,900 patients. 6 percent of the budget is spent on health. Almost 30,000 women died during pregnancy whereas half population of the country is facing food shortage.
44 percent population is facing the drainage problem whereas 21 percent population is deprived from pure water. 45 percent people could not get life saving drugs. Four million people are mentally and physically disabled. Hepatitis is increasing in this region which has reached up to 7 percent. Birth rate is 2.70 percent increasing annually.
