A deed of agreement (DoA) for academic collaboration between Iqra University (IU) and the Institute for Rural Management (IRM) Islamabad was signed here on Tuesday.
The DoA was signed by Dr Jamil Ahmad, Dean of IU and Roomi Saeed Hayat, Executive Director IRM in order to develop various academic awards such as post-graduate diplomas, short courses and for certification of the Women's Leadership Programme (WLP) at IRM.
The WLP is a cutting-edge programme aimed at enabling women professionals in the rural development sector to contend for managerial positions. Speaking on the occasion Jamil hoped that the agreement would prove to be the road to empowerment and success for many women and men in the burgeoning field of rural development.
IRM is on the forefront of vocational and development trainings for both rural management professionals and those from the rural areas, who need a boost in order to mobilise themselves.
