City Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal on Tuesday said that due to prompt actions by the city administration the milk is now available at the cheaper price of Rs 34 per litre instead of Rs 42. Talking to media, he said there were only a few people engaged in forcing the milk sellers to raise the prices.
These people even attempted to waste the stock of milk sellers by throwing it on road who refused to comply with their designs the city Nazim said adding the administration has now controlled the situation. He said the milk was now available throughout the city at the previous price of Rs 34 per litre.
The city government was ready to take action against those who were responsible for creating panic for the people he said and added that these people would not be allowed to disturb the normal flow of life in the city.
Mustafa Kamal said that the magistrates raided as soon as they received the complaints of selling milk at higher price and arrested at least 285 people who were involved in the practice.
He said if anyone has a complaint he could register it on help-line 1339, which works round the clock. The City Nazim said that administration was also concerned to ensure the provision of hygienic milk to the citizens adding presently the things were not ideal but efforts were going on to improve them.
