Awareness drive against violence on women

The White Ribbon campaign on Tuesday showcased its work done to fight violence against women in collaboration with the Beaconhouse University.
Campaign Country Director Omar Aftab and Project Director and senior technical expert of the German Agency for Technical Co-operation (GTZ), Dr Khola Iram, briefing about the objectives of the campaign, said the focus was to create awareness, particularly in the male youth regarding the injustices and violence against women in Pakistan. "Our ultimate goal is to eliminate all forms of violation against women from the society with active involvement of the male members.
The other objective of the campaign is to develop communities, where both men and women can live in mutual respect, peace and harmony by fulfilling each other rights and women can feel secure without threat of any kind of violence, they added. University lecturers Riffat and Yasmin also spoke and appreciated the campaign objectives and said the violation against women has become a global issue, which could not be ignored.
