GC University (GCU), Lahore, enjoys special privilege of having luminaries from all walks of life and strong set of golden traditions and produced five prime ministers, including Feroze Khan Noon, Zafarullah Khan Jamali, Moeen Qureshi, Mian Nawaz Sharif and the incumbent Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The incumbent Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Aftab has announced to construct a "Hall of Fame" - a building which would contain pictures of outstanding and distinguished Old Ravians from all disciplines of life-be it a politician, a sportsman, and artists, musician, academician or scientists.
It is also pertinent to mention over here that GCU is the alma-mater of two Nobel Laureate scientists Dr Abdus Salam and Dr Hargobind Khorana. The GCU Endowment Fund Trust is organising a re-union of Old Ravians belonging to the decade of sixties in the lawns located in front of Bokhari auditorium of the GC University Lahore on Saturday, April 12.
The Distinguished Old Ravians of the 1960s classes, include Mian Nawaz Sharif, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Mir Zafarullah Jamali, Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Khawaja Asif, Sardar Asif Ahmad Ali, Sardar Latif Khosa, Khurshid Mahmood Qasuri, Mian Mohammad Azher, Arif Nizami, Najam Sethi, Majid Khan, Aftab Gul, Ilyas M Chaudhry, Mian Muhammad Mansha, Saleem Sehgal, Tariq Saeed Sehgal, Iqbal Qarshi, Yousuf Salahuddin, Wasif Ali, Izzat Majid, Sarmad Amin, Khawaja Nadeem Ahmad, Saeed Baksh, Mian Maher Ahmad, Mian Humayon Naseer, Mushtaq Sufi and Shahid Nadeem.
