A delegation of Korangi Industrial Trading Estate (Kite) will soon meet Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to discuss the issue of allotment of 1500 acres of land for establishing a new industrial estate in the vicinity of the city.
The delegation will also discuss issues of establishment of Marble City, Textile City and park for women entrepreneurs with the chief minister and would suggest that these projects should be handed over to Sindh Infrastructure Development Board for early completion.
Taking to newsmen here Chief Executive of KITE Limited, Abdul Hasib Khan said that establishment of new industrial zone are must to create jobs opportunities for absorbing the increasing unemployment. He said that the city has five industrial estates and has almost no vacant plots. Prices of few existing vacant plots in the estates are very high, which made it unfeasible for investors to invest and establish new industrial units.
Abdul Hasib Khan said that during caretaker government tenure, he has also approached the provincial industries' minister for allocation of at lest 1500 acres of land for new industrial estate. He said that he has proposed three different locations including northern bypass, Bin Qasim and Pakistan Steel for allocation of the land.
