Prolonged power outages perturb citizens

Prolonged power outages continue to agonise people of many cities in southern Punjab. Business activities on Friday came to a standstill as all major business centres and mills were shut down due to long suspension of electricity supply.
Meanwhile, the Power Looms Association demonstrated against the unannounced and unreasonable load shedding that has largely affected production in their mills. The protestors also have threatened to seize Mepco office in case regular and smooth supply of electricity was not restored by April 15. Many residents informed Business Recorder that their children are facing great difficulties and unable to carry their studies due to continuous blackouts.
