A group of eight Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) senators from Balochistan on Saturday rejected reports suggesting they were planning to form a forward bloc within the opposition party. Acting Chairman Senate Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali said a meeting of upper house members from the province on Friday was not part of forming a rebel group.
Rather, a Senate secretariat statement quoted Jamali, it was to discuss how these legislators could always take unanimous position to serve the interest of their province. "There was no discussion on formation of a forward bloc within the party," Jan Jamali explained.
He stated that it was decided in the meeting that efforts would be made to have complete co-ordination with the government of Balochistan regarding the issues that are pending with the center such as NFC award and gas development surcharge. It was further decided that all efforts will be made to have consensus amongst the senators of Balochistan on all political issues, the statement added.
