Customs-bonded trucking service at airport launched

Customs Chief Collector Shahid Nadeem Sheikh has called upon the business community of Sialkot to take initiatives for adopting modern business techniques to cope with new global challenges.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of customs-bonded trucking service of Sialkot International Airport here on Saturday, he said the adoption modern business techniques at this juncture had become more imperative because its global trends are changing rapidly.
The modern business techniques would not only help in enhancing the export-volume of this export-oriented city but also help in maintaining the record of production he added. The customs official also said that strenuous efforts are being made to simplify the customs procedure to mitigate the problems being confronted by the exporters and importers.
On this occasion, he urged the business community that it should keep a vigilant eye on malefactors in their respective business units for curtailing the changes of drug trafficking.
Sialkot International Airport Chairman Ghulam Mustafa Choudary, in his address of welcome, said the customs-bonded trucking service has been initiated keeping in view the requirements of foreign airlines from Sialkot Airport to Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar airports for speedy handling of exportable cargo for ensuring timely delivery at the ultimate destination.
Ghulam Mustafa also said the air cargo service would soon be started from Sialkot for various international destinations while Umrah and Hajj flights would also start from Sialkot. Later, the customs chief collector, the Sialkot International Airport chairman along with the management of the airport inaugurates the customs-bonded trucking service.
