13 Apr, 2008

Pakistan Muslim League's (PML-N) Senior Vice President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said that all the deposed judges including Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry would be reinstated in 30 days. All political parties were united on the issue of the judiciary and wanted to reinstate all deposed judges, including Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, he said.
In what he termed a 'happy message' for 160 million people, and said they had won the case of reinstatement of all the deposed judges. The PML-N leader condemned the Karachi incident and prayed for departed souls. Hundreds of lawyers and civil society members were present in the District Courts, Rawalpindi, on the occasion.
He said it was time for decision-making in Pakistan. The destination of free judiciary, democracy and rule of law was around the corner and no one could create strife in this way, he added.
The wheel of true democracy was moving and the nation could not allow any dictator to destroy peace in the country, he said, adding that for the first time a positive change was witnessed in the history of the country. He said that all dictators including Zia-ul-Haq, Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan and Pervez Musharraf took the help of PCO or LFO to secure their rule, but the nation openly rejected it. He said Pervez Musharraf should think that his power was nothing before nation's power and the whole nation had rejected him in the February 18 elections.
He hailed the attitude of Rawalpindiites and said he had great honour and reverence for them who had broken the pride of 'Farzand-e-Rawalpindi' in the last general elections. Makhdoom Javed Hashmi and lawyers offered 'Fateha' for the martyrs of Karachi incident at Kutchery Chowk and prayed for the departed souls on the occasion.
