The Capital Development Authority (CDA), in the wake of a sudden rise in the accident rate in Islamabad, has decided to construct 14 pedestrian bridges in the city, official sources informed Business Recorder on Saturday.
The sources further said that the heavy traffic load on city roads has aggravated the road safety causing a rise in the accident ratio. However, the construction plan of these bridges is still at an early stage, therefore, cannot ascertain the exact cost and date when the construction would start", said the official. It has been recorded that the despite road-traffic education imparted by the Islamabad Traffic Police many motorists are still not familiar with the rules.
