CPJ hails government's move to lift media curbs

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), an independent group that safeguards press freedom worldwide, has welcomed the new Pakistani government's move to lift restrictions on media imposed by the previous government.
A statement issued by CPJ, which is based in New York, lauded the parliamentary bill introduced by Information Minister Sherry Rehman that would repeal amendments made to the media laws last November.
