Japan's Agriculture Ministry said on Tuesday it has offered to buy a combined 88,000 tonnes of wheat from the United States, Canada and Australia through a regular weekly tender closing on Thursday. All shipments are scheduled for June.
Last week the ministry held its first weekly regular tender of the current business year, which started in April, buying a total of 70,000 tonnes of wheat from the United States, Canada and Australia. Grain imports are mostly conducted through the Ministry of Agriculture, in order to maintain price stability.
