Zardari acquitted from Alam Baloch murder case

The District and Sessions Judge Hyderabad Farooq Channa has acquitted Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari from Muhammad Alam Baloch murder case here on Wednesday. The defence counsel Yousuf Leghari Advocate on Tuesday filed an application under section 249-A for acquittal of Asif Ali Zardari from Alam Baloch murder case, which was pending for last 11 years.
It was mentioned in the application that the prosecution has failed to prove any evidence against Zardari in the murder. The judge while considering the request acquitted Asif Ali Zardari, however the proceedings of the case against other accused remained continued, Yousuf Leghari Advocate told APP.
The murder case was registered on the complaint of one Muhammad Ramzan at Qasimabad Police Station in 1997 Under Sections 302, 114, 427 PPC etc against Asif Ali Zardari, Hakim Ali Zardari, Abdul Latif Ansari, Abdul Shakoor Ansari and others on their involvement in the murder of former Irrigation Secretary Muhammad Alam Baloch.
