World book, Copyright Day on April 23

The World Book and Copyright Day will be celebrated on April 23 by the Department of Libraries, Ministry of Education in collaboration with Unesco, Intellectual Property Organisation (IPO), Pakistan Library Association and Federal Directorate of Education.
In connection with the World Book and Copyright Day, several programmes have been organised. A book walk would be held on April 23, will start from China Chowk and end on Parliament House at 10:00 a m. The inaugural session of a seminar will be held on "Libraries beyond boundaries; issues and opportunities" at 11:30 a m in the auditorium of National Library of Pakistan, Islamabad.
The inauguration of book fair at National Library of Pakistan will also be held on the same day. Federal Minister for Education, Ahsan Iqbal will inaugurate the seminar and book fair. Eminent scholars, faculty members, dignitaries, students and public opinion makers will attend the book walk, seminar and book fair.
World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated every year throughout the world on April 23 since 1996. This decision was proclaimed by the Unesco General Conference to celebrate the event in the Member Countries of the world.
