Federal Minister for Science & Technology, Tahmina Daultana on Thursday said that there is a tremendous potential in our youth and we must create an environment to harness it to enable them to made a difference. She was visiting the newly built campus of the Comsats Institute of Information & Technology (CIIT) here at Chakshehzad, says a press release issued here.
Rector CIIT Dr S.M. Junaid Zaidi briefed the Minister about the achievements and future programs to be undertaken by CIIT so far. The permanent campus of Comsats Institute of Information & Technology is being built in Chakshehzad on Rs 420 million of land allocated by government with a Rs 395.37 million.
Presently, there are six fully operational campuses of CIIT in Islamabad, Lahore, Abbottabad, Wah, Attock and Sahiwal. CIIT is ranked 7th in research rankings conducted by HEC among all 114 national universities of Pakistan and also on the basis of cumulative impact factor by Institute of Scientific Information (USA).
She stressed on upgrading the curriculum with pace the world is modernising with the special focus on the technological advancements and to the students living in far-flung areas.
