On the brink of a crisis

Opening words of your captioned editorial (April 12) were realistic and touching. It said that survival of human beings depends on proper nourishment and anything can happen if they cannot get enough food to keep their body and soul together.
It also said that Pakistani authorities, unfortunately, continue to be enamoured of the evolving political situation and are less bothered about planning for food security and the conditions of the poor people.
We see the smiley faces of our leaders rather representatives attired in state of art fashioned costumes, sitting leisurely in cool big room and passing the blame over their predecessors as in the tradition of our politics. One should not be pessimistic but scenario is not hopeful but distressing.
