19 Apr, 2008

The ruling alliance instead of providing relief to the masses has increased the prices of petroleum products twice, besides the flour was not available in the majority parts of the country after which the people were forced to commit suicides.
Opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi stated this while chairing the organisational meeting of the PML-Q Lahore held in connection with preparations of by-elections here at his residence on Friday. 'PML will fully participate in the by-elections, hence, the party workers must come forward and play their effective role,' Elahi said.
He further said the PML has served the masses with missionary zeal in the past and with same spirit it again entered the assemblies. He said the ruling alliance did nothing for the fulfilment of their promises instead they had launched an unending reign of victimisation of political opponents which would damage the democracy and democratic institutions.
He said that strong PML guarantees strong Pakistan and in order to strengthen the party, it should be reorganised at grass root level. He asked the participants to speed up their contacts with the masses to ensure victory of the party candidates in the by-elections.
The meeting was attended by Mian Munir Ahmed, Akhlaq Ahmed Guddu, Moonis Elahi, Chaudhry Ashraf, Major Habibullah Warriach (Retd), Chaudhry Mansha Sandhu, Khawaja Tahir Zia, Sardar Kamil Omer, Tariq Sana Bajwa, Malik Asghar Khan, Chaudhry Aashiq Diyal and others.
