Ipra chooses Golden World Awards winners for excellence in PR

The International Public Relations Association (Ipra) has chosen the winners of its 2008 Golden World Awards for Excellence in PR. Winning campaigns ranged from the Dubai summer surprises (Dubai Shopping festival) for its campaign to re-invigorate and attract more visitors to the Dubai Summer Surprises.
Careful use of research provided direction for targeting new audiences and for creating innovative ways to draw millions of visitors to Dubai. NGO campaign one laptop per child by Racepoint Group USA, whose mission it is to provide laptop computers sufficiently affordable for every child in the world to have access to education.
A multifaceted campaign led to delivery of 100,000 laptops to children in the world's poorest nations. (Winner of the NGO campaign category and candidate for the United Nations Award). The Ipra judges chose 28 category winners from 117 finalists out of 404 entries from 52 countries.
Zia Ul Islam Zuberi, Director, Corporate Communication Siemens Pakistan was also a member of this international jury and part of the group that judged entries in the category of "Event Management" and "Travel and Tourism".
