Major stock markets outside the United States ended on Friday.
The FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European shares ended 2.4 percent higher at 1,325.90 points, its highest close since April 7 and its biggest one-day gain since April 1. The index has risen 5 percent in April, putting it on track for its best month since October 2003.
The All Gold index closed at 2,542.21 points, down 18.5 or 0.72 percent, up 18.43 points from last weekend, while the Industrial index closed at 20,211.58 points, up 116.92 or 0.58 percent, The index added 461.27 points on the week.
