Karachi University holds programme to mark Earth Day

Karachi University held a programme to mark the Earth Day here on Monday. Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, was the chief guest of the event.
In his speech, he pointed out, "we are living in a world where natural resources are becoming scarce day by day and as such we should be wise enough to utilise the natural resources without depleting them." He said that the way we are living that will lead towards un-sustainability and we assume that we are the only species living on the planet, but in reality we should share this planet with other species.
He said that we have made so much damages to this world and now its survival is at risk, adding that the time has gone when African countries only facing food crisis now the people around the world are facing the problem and even an agricultural country like Pakistan is also facing food shortages.
