Afghan foreign minister arrives in Islamabad

Afghan Foreign Minister, Dr Rangin Dadfar Spanta arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday for holding bilateral talks with the new government, This was disclosed by the Afghan embassy. It is the first visit of Afghan foreign minister to Pakistan since the formation of the new government last month.
The minister will call on President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Speaker, National Assembly, Dr Fahmida Mirza, the embassy informed. During his visit Dr Spanta will also hold talks with Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi on wide-ranging issues, including co-operation to fight militants and 'issues relating to the upcoming Paris conference, regional co-operation conference in Islamabad, counter-narcotics and holding of the Joint Peace Jirga' official sources said.
