Wasa to install 12 new tube wells

Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) will install 12 tube wells, each of one cusec capacity, along with Rakh Branch Canal to supplement water supplies during the upcoming hot summer season. Abdul Majeed director Planning and Development, Wasa, said here on Tuesday that a collector main would also be provided at a total cost of Rs 92.63 million. The project will be completed on fast track basis within the next six months, he added.
The Saifabad disposal works at Dijkot main drain will also be constructed with Rs 10.927 million, he said, adding that a trunk sewer line of 72 inches diameter will also be laid along Dhuddiwala minor at a cost Rs 27.911 million. This project will be completed within eight months, he added.
He said the existing sewer lines in Ahmad Abad, Gulistan Colony, will be connected with newly laid 48 inch diameter trunk sewer line, with an estimated cost of Rs 826,000. "The tube wells in Well Field Area, Chiniot and in City Area, Faisalabad will also be rehabilitated in addition to the rewinding of 300-KVA generator.
This will help ensure smooth operation of Wasa installations during load shedding," he said. He said that the Bawa road pump station would also be constructed with Rs 53.62 million, which will include provision of electrical and mechanical works, and will be completed within a period of six months.
