PML-Q responsible for illegal acts of November 3, says Rabbani

Leader of the House in Senate Mian Raza Rabbani has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) misused the National Assembly forum by passing the shameful resolution endorsing President Pervez Musharraf's unconstitutional acts of November 3.
He said this at a press conference in Parliament on Monday while responding to the PML-Q's top leadership Chaudhry Shujaat and Mushahid Hussain Sayed who have announced the other day to table a resolution in the National Assembly on judicial crisis, if the ruling alliance failed to do so.
Rabbani said that the PML-Q led coalition government was equally responsible for all the unconstitutional acts of November 3 after endorsing them through a resolution in the Parliament. He said PML-Q leaders should have condemned and resigned from their slots after President Musharraf imposed emergency, if they had any moral courage.
It was the PML-Q's government when Chief Justice was sacked, manhandled and kept confined and now under what justification they are talking about the restoration of judges, he questioned.
It was the PML-Q's government where lawyers, political workers, civil society representatives and media-persons were subjected to torture on roads and the rulers were silent spectators, he recalled. He, however, said that the coalition government would consider accommodating if there was any fruitful suggestion from the opposition including PML-Q.
Rabbani was confident that the ruling coalition would reinstate the deposed judges as per Bhurban Declaration, dispelling the impression of any deadlock over the issue. "The deposed judges will be restored according to the Bhurban Declaration signed by Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)", he maintained.
To another query about the constitutional package, he said the constitutional package was altogether a different issue. It can come either together with the resolution followed by it. He said there was no timeframe about the constitutional package to be presented in the Parliament. Reacting on Mushahid's statement on Balochistan issue, he again said that the PML-Q itself failed to implement its own committee recommendations on Balochistan when it was in power.
