PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Saturday met with President Pervez Musharraf and discussed with him the next leadership of the party. During the meeting, Chaudhry brothers while expressing concern over the nomination of Hamid Nasir Chatha, agreed to hand over the power of party leadership to Pir Pagara.
Both the leaders assured President Pervez Musharraf that they have no objection on Pir Pagara if he assumes the presidentship of the party. They were of the view that in case of unity in other factions of the party, they are willing to surrender the slot of president of PML-Q. It was agreed to continue the talks for next few days.
According to a private television, the matter of restoration of judges and constitutional package also came under discussion. Chaudhry brothers informed the President that he would be taken into confidence if PML-Q brings a constitutional package and a resolution regarding restoration of judiciary in the Parliament.
