The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has become the first-ever Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) certified organisation in the public sector, a press release, issued here on Tuesday, revealed this.
NADRA has been appraised successfully for CMMI@-Dev, Maturity Level-II of Software Engineering Institute's (SEI), Carnegie Mellon University, USA.
The Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI), Class 'A' was conducted; Project Management, Software Development and Quality Assurance activities were found to be in accordance with the laid down processes.
Chairman NADRA, Brigadier Saleem Ahmed Moeen (Retd) said, 'CMMI represents a major step forward for our organisation, in particular, for Pakistani IT Industry in general. This is indeed a hallmark achievement and a milestone for us.

CMMI certifications have been initiated and sponsored by Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) to boost the image of Pakistani IT industry and export of IT Solutions, CMMI achievement had earned an additional place for NADRA in the elite group of the CMMIcertified global companies.
