Nine people died of heatstroke in Southern Punjab as the temperature continues to rise in the province. Health authorities have confirmed the death of nine people including two women. The deaths were identified as Abdul Majid, Gulzar Ahmed, Mrs Imam Bakhsh, Muhammad Aleem of Khanpur, Zaffar, mother of Khurram and an unidentified farmer from Chiniot.
The maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 43 degree Celsius in Multan, 44 degree in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rahimyar Khan, Islamabad at 37, Lahore at 40, Peshawar at 38, Quetta at 33, Nawabshah at 44, Qalat at 29, Parachanar and Ziarat at 24 and Skardu at 23 degree Celsius. Meanwhile, the MET office has forecast hot and dry weather.
