The Deputy Chairman Erra, Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed has said that hundreds of departmental officials of Erra and Serra are rigorously engaged in reconstruction work and rehabilitation of 350,000 quake-hit people of Azad Kashmir.
He said this while addressing a farewell ceremony, which was held jointly by Erra and Serra officials in his honour here on Wednesday. Deputy Chairman Erra said that the roads, hospitals and educational institutions in quake ravaged areas were being reconstructed in accordance with future needs and keeping in view the future dangers.
The outgoing Deputy Chairman Erra while appreciating the different departments concerning to reconstruction work said that despite limited resources and difficult conditions the officials of these departments delivered their best with human spirit for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of quake-hit areas.
Director General Serra, Dr Asif Ali Shah also spoke on the occasion and paid glowing tributes to the outgoing Deputy Chairman for his untiring efforts which he made after the devastated 2005 earthquake. Nadeem Ahmed presented memorial shields to the ICRC Head, Miss Solain and representative of TCF Colonel Mehdi on behalf of Serra in recognition of their services.
