Sindh Food Minister Mir Nadir Ali Magsi has said that Sindh had so far procured 0.4 million tonnes of wheat while the department's vigilance teams are in action day and night against wheat smuggling and hoarding. Talking to delegations at his residence, the minister said that vigilance teams are carrying out raids against wheat hoarders and it has produced good results.
He said the people have returned us to power and handful of hoarders would not be allowed to make them die of hunger just to feed their own bellies. Nadir Magsi said that after the wheat procurement target is met, the corrupt and inefficient officials in the department would not be tolerated, as they are the real root cause behind the wheat crisis.
He announced that officials showing good performance will be rewarded as well as promoted while irresponsible ones would be sent home as the people have lost their patience and can not suffer agonies any more.
