'Railways operational system to be improved'

Pakistan Railways Chairman, Muhammad Kashif Murtaza has signaled his intention to revamp the department, saying further improvement will be made in operational system of the department while management problems also need to be resolved.
He was addressing the divisional officers on Friday, where Operations and Manufacturing and Services General Managers Asad Saeed and Farooq Aziz and Divisional Superintendent Abdul Jabbar were also present.
The Chairman ordered the Operations Department to overcome the problem of frequent delays and also told the general manager to prepare a list of officers to be appointed as magistrates and sending the same to the ministry soon.
Murtaza earlier visited the Saint Andrews School and College where he expressed his unhappiness over the condition of the building. He also approved Rs 1,500 raise in the salaries of teachers and Rs 500 lower-grade employees effective from July 1. He later visited the office of the rail police inspector general.
