A number of Pakistani companies have displayed their value added food products at an ongoing international exhibition in the Malaysian capital. The five-day event titled Fifth Malaysia International Halal Showcase opened here on Wednesday, attracting a stream of thousands of visitors from 64 countries.
The Pakistani companies got the valuable opportunity to make long-term business associations with more than 500 exhibitors from 26 countries. Pakistan's High Commissioner Lieutenant General Tahir Mahmud Qazi (Retd), while visiting the exhibition, observed that with targeted and aggressive marketing the Pakistani value added Halal product would succeed in securing rightful share in the rich Malaysian and Asean region markets.
The envoy advised representatives of the companies to display Halal certification by Pakistani, Malaysian or international certificate awarding institutions to increase the acceptability of their products. The products displayed by the Pakistani companies include cooked chicken nuggets, spring rolls, burger patties, chapatis, super brown Basmati rice, brown sugar, almond, apricot, pine nuts, dried apricot halves and sweets like 'Barfi', 'Cham Cham' and 'Gulab Jaman.'
