Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) Managing Director Fazal Ahmed Khan has called upon chief executive officers of power distribution companies to manage power-cuts to avoid public inconvenience.
Presiding a progress review meeting at the Wapda House on Tuesday, he said that load management should be carried out according to a pre-notified schedule. He ordered the companies to get more revenue and decrease in power-line losses.
About rising fatal accidents faced by power-line staff, he told the companies to ensure that no work was executed in distribution system without obtaining a permit. "Necessary funds should be made available to buy safety equipment for the line staff on priority," he added. Pepco Advisor Salim Arif, the chief executive officers and NTDC officers also attended the meeting.
