FPCCI budget proposals will be given due importance: Gilani

Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that all pre-budget proposals to be sent by Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), an apex body of chambers, will be given importance in the forthcoming national budget for the next fiscal year.
President FPCCI, Tanvir Ahmad Sheikh told APP here on Tuesday that Prime Minister while recently talking to a trade delegation comprising President Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tariq Sayeed, Vice President, Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pakistan Chapter and trade leader Iftikhar Ali Malik including himself had assured them of government's attaching great importance to the welfare of the business community and all its sound proposals would be considered.
He said that Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani had directed the concerned federal ministries especially Federal Board of Revenue to incorporate the proposals put forth by the federation. He said the Prime Minister had also assured that all efforts would be made to facilitate the traders especially exporters including foreign and local investors.
Tanvir said that federation has sought budget proposals from affiliated chambers. FPCCI will hold a meeting at its regional office here with the presidents of the affiliated chambers and registered trade bodies and associations from all over the country.
The purpose is to have direct contact individually with all the business leaders to discuss budget proposals for the next fiscal year and to help resolve trade issues and redress their grievances.
Co-Chairman Businessmen Panel, founder US-Pak Business Council and former president FPCCI Iftikhar Ali Malik said that FPCCI will finalise its budget proposals keeping in view suggestions of the affiliated chambers. He said Prime Minister will consider the sound proposals by the federation to accelerate the pace of development and provide impetus to the industrial sector.
