Partly Facetious: the two wrestlers and the camel jockey!

14 May, 2008

"So Boucher was in London too. I wonder whether he was seeking a rapprochement between the two parties or secretly working against such a rapprochement."
"That's a good one. Don't know and at this point don't care."
"As Prime Minister Gilani said he is not responsible for Boucher's itinerary and neither are we, the public."
"That's certainly true but I have begun to wonder, as has the rest of the nation, if Gilani is even responsible for his own itinerary."
"Don't be facetious - you know his standing precisely in the party and the government. He has never claimed to have more power than what is evident."
"OK, but his Advisor seems to be more in use by the party Co-Chairman, Asif Zardari."
"Don't think so, Rehman Malik is even receiving cheques from the UAE guys for the poor camel jockeys - man, that sport is absolutely cruel."
"So is wrestling."
"In wrestling they are of the same age and weight, like Nawaz Sharif and Zardari, but children are used as camel jockeys who begin to cry when they are strapped on the camel."
"So the public of this country is being sold by the two wrestlers as a camel jockey."
"What imagery, though both the wrestlers as you refer to them will deny it."
"I would imagine so anyway London talks have failed."
"Indeed they have and not surprisingly may I add."
"Right and now the PPP will have to turn to the Lota party."
"With or without the Chaudhrys?"
"Musharraf cannot guarantee their exit - he has already tried and failed."
"And the Chaudhrys would probably want to merge with Nawaz Sharif rather than with Asif Zardari."
"Indeed, so the plot thickens but in all this there is one sad note."
"What?"
"That the PPP is coming out in favour of Musharraf for all the wrong reasons."
"Zardari's cases being dismissed?"
"Yes."
"Why can't Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari get together and achieve the same thing in the Parliament and maybe they can get the Chaudhry to sit on the same side as them."
"Nawaz Sharif is angry at the Chaudhrys too."
"Even now?"
"What do you mean even now?"
"Now that Pervez Elahi has done Umra and all his past sins are forgiven?"
"Don't be facetious."
