Punjab Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sana Ullah Khan has directed the Prosecutor General Punjab that in order to redress the grievances of the people and to provide them better prosecution services, the working of the complaint cells at public prosecution department be further improved at district and tehsil levels.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting in his office, here Thursday. Rana Sana Ullah Khan said that any aggrieved person in relation to criminal investigation might file a complaint in writing to the prosecutor. He said that the prosecutor on the receipt of the complaint would be liable to attend the same within two days and would submit it to the Prosecutor General for further necessary action.
He further directed the prosecutors to have a close liaison with law enforcement agencies of their respective districts for the provision of necessary guidance at all levels of prosecution of criminal cases particularly those at investigation stage.
The Minister said that as per Open Door Policy of the provincial government, the prosecution department's doors should remain open from 11:00am onward so that free access of general public to the officers could be made possible. He said that a daily report of hearing should also be submitted to the Prosecutor General Office for onward transmission.
