University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) since its inception has produced 0.2 million trained manpower by offering various degree programmes and short-diploma courses.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, said this while addressing a certificate distribution ceremony of Department of Continuing Education, UAF, and National Vocational and Technical Education Commission (Navtec) here on Thursday. VC, GC University, Faisalabad Dr Arif Zaidi urged the need for introducing new demand oriented diploma courses and said that the level system should be introduced by Navtec for capacity enhancement of trainees.
Regional Director, Navtec, Abid Javaid while highlighting the role of Navtec said that the new students of various diploma courses will be offered monthly stipend of Rs 2000. He revealed that they have produced more than 1,000 workers of local industrial sector by providing them skills.
Chairman, Department of Continuing Education and Principal Coordinator Dr Mehmood Ahmad Randhawa told that UAF and GCU have produced more than 500 diploma holders under Navtec programme held at UAF. The chief guest Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan distributed the certificate among the position holders of various technical training courses.
