Skill development centres would be established in various parts of the province to help train youngsters for various jobs and enable them to stand on their own feet. This was stated by the Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs, Syed Faisal Subzwari, here on Friday.He said that he has already held discussion in this connection with the Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
Faisal pointed out that two such centres are planned to be set up in Karachi - one in Malir and the other in SITE or Orangi areas of the metropolis. He said that there are plans that skill development centres for the youths be also established in Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad and Nawabshah.
The minister said the very purpose of such an initiative is to impart training to the youngsters in the skills and disciplines in which there are demands these days and thus enable the youth to stand on their own feet.
He stated that for the execution of new schemes for the benefit of the youths, cooperation would also be sought from the private sector and the non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Faisal said that he also intends to initiate internship programme in Sindh to help utilise the services of the educated youngsters in an effective manner besides providing them employment opportunities.
