Machine-readable vehicle registration book launched

The newly printed machine-readable computerised registration book was formally launched by Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar at a ceremony held at his office here on Friday.
Excise and Taxation Secretary Mohammed Naseer Jamali, Director-General Asif Marghoub Siddiqi, Director, Motor Registration Wing Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqi, Pakistan Security Printing Corporation Chairman Syed Nasim and General Manager Lieutenant Colonel Parvez Khattak were also present on the occasion.
Talking to journalists, the Minister said that within seven days the vehicle owners would start getting machine-readable registration books. He said the new book would have watermark and two-colour secret monogram, which would be only visible in ultraviolet light. He said that the paper used in printing of the book is not available anywhere in the market, while the ink used for printing has been prepared with 20 different chemicals.
