Teacher's case hearing adjourned

17 May, 2008

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned till May 23 a case following a petition by former Aitchison College teacher Muhammad Sharif after it heard partial arguments seeking court directions for the college to pay his dues. The petitioner argued that he served for 30 years in the college, as a teacher in Prep School of the college.
He was forced to resign on March 23, 2005 after the objectionable attitude of the college principal. He said in 2003 he had filed a petition demanding the court order the college administration to give him up gradation, pay Eidul Fitar Allowance since 2001 and consider him for New Payment Allowance (NPA) since 2001, and bar it from taking any unlawful or punitive measures against him.
He said the court had told the board of governors of college to decide his matter but it plainly rejected his application in its meeting on December 8, 2005. He said as his juniors were being given all above mentioned facilities but the college management refused.
