Poorest of poor to get relief in next budget: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that poorest of the poor would get relief in the forthcoming budget. He was talking to newsmen at Chaklala Airbase before his departure for Egypt to attend the World Economic Forum on Middle East on Saturday.
The Prime Minister said during his meetings with the world leaders and members of the business community on the sidelines of the forum, he would brief them on Pakistan's economic strategy especially priorities in the next budget and seek their assistance to accelerate the pace of economic development.
Asked about his meeting with President Bush, the Prime Minister said he would discuss with him the entire gamut of bilateral relations, especially defence and economic co-operation, prospects of investment and war on terror.
He referred to the prevailing food crisis and said he would also exchange views with President Bush on the subject besides enhancing co-operation in social sector. He said Pakistan and US enjoy close relations and they would explore ways and means to strengthen them further.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by Special Assistant on Fiancé and Economic Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Sector Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Governor State Bank Dr Shamshad Akhtar and members of the business community. He was seen off at the airbase by federal ministers Naveed Qamar, Farooq H. Naek and Raja Pervez Ashraf.
