India to deploy Sukhoi-30 fighters on border

Indian has planned progressively to deploy its advanced Sukhoi-30MKI fighters on western front to counter threat from F-16s and JF-17 "Thunder" jets. "Times of India" reported on Sunday, Pakistan is in a process of getting F-16s from the US and JF-17 Thunder jets from China. The Indian Air force has planned to position its most potent Sukhoi-30MKI fighters on the western front.
Similarly, India has also planned to station multi-role Sukhoi-30MKIs on eastern front in a big way against China. The Indian Air force has identified Tezpur and other bases in the North-East to also base the multi-role Sukhoi-30MKIs. At present, India has based its Sukhois only at Pune, Jodhpur and Bareilly. They are also operated from as diverse places as the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Halwara.
India is expected to get fresh deliveries of the fighters soon. The identifying process of important airbases to station future squadrons is taking place in full flow, the daily reported.
